Gypsy Hut - Your Premium Stay in Newtonmore

Gypsy Hut is a one-bedroom gypsy hut with a fully equipped kitchenette. It has a gas camping stove, a small fridge, a kettle, pots, pans, cutlery, sleeping bags, and pillows. Blackout blinds, double glazing, a stable door, and an oil-filled electric radiator are fitted in the hut.

The hut sits on a working croft run by host Viv. Sheep, lambs, chickens, sheepdogs, and Highland cows roam the grounds, and guests can bottle-feed newborn lambs when the season allows. The croft has valley views and dark skies, with walks starting from the doorstep.

The hut is a 15-minute walk from the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore. The village is a 5-10 minute walk down past sheep fields, with a Co-op and cafés. The return route from the village is uphill, so a torch is useful at night.

Kingussie Golf Club is 5 km away, Ruthven Barracks 6 km, and Highland Wildlife Park 12 km. Inverness Airport is 79 km from the property. The A9 main route runs close by, but the croft remains quiet at night.

Free private parking is available on site, and the property is non-smoking throughout. The shared bathroom cabin next door has an electric shower and flushing toilet; guests share it with one other hut. Tea, coffee, sugar, basic towels, washing-up liquid, and loo rolls are supplied.
